Advice From People Who Also Build

Most software projects that go wrong do not fail in the code. They fail earlier: a requirement nobody wrote down, an ERP that cannot provide the data everyone assumed, a vendor quote nobody questioned, or a decision that sat with the wrong person. Our consultancy is about finding those problems while they are still cheap to fix.

Because Tec Dynamics builds bespoke software, customer portals, ERP integrations and AI systems every day, our advice is grounded in what actually works in production. You get a straight answer, including when the right answer is an off-the-shelf product, a smaller scope, or not building anything at all.

What Our Consultancy Covers

Discovery & Requirements

We talk to the people who will use the system, map how work really flows today, and turn that into written requirements, user journeys and data needs that everyone signs off before a line of code is written.

System, ERP & API Audits

We test what your ERP, CRM, e-commerce platform and third-party APIs can genuinely provide against what the project needs, then give you a prioritised gap report. No more discovering halfway through a build that a key endpoint does not exist.

Build, Buy or Extend Decisions

Should you buy a SaaS tool, pay your ERP vendor to extend it, or build something bespoke? We lay the options side by side with cost, timeline, risk and who owns the result, in plain language, so the decision is yours and it is an informed one.

Architecture & Roadmap

We design how your systems should fit together, where data should live, and how to deliver in phases so value arrives early. You get a roadmap you can take to the board, with a fixed-price proposal if you want us to deliver it.

AI Readiness

We look at where AI would genuinely save time in your business, whether your data is in a state to support it, and how to keep it private and grounded in your own information rather than guesswork.

Vendor Management, Security & Go-Live Readiness

We can act as your technical voice with suppliers, write the API specifications they need, review security and data isolation before launch, and prepare a go-live runbook so the switch-over is planned rather than hoped for. We also step in to rescue projects that have stalled.

Consultancy in practice

LGM Aviation: Consultancy Before Code

LGM Aviation wanted to give aviation clients around the world self-service access to orders, invoices and documents held in their ERP.Aero system. Before building, we wrote the integration requirements, tested every ERP endpoint against the plan and shared a prioritised gap report with the ERP vendor.

When LGM asked for a fleet view, we set out both routes side by side: an ERP-side change quoted at 8 to 10 weeks, or a portal-side build of about 2 weeks with nothing changing for LGM staff. We benchmarked the API before designing caching, reviewed security before launch and handed over a go-live runbook. The result is a multilingual, AI-assisted customer portal now used by LGM's clients.

Who It Is For

Our consultancy suits UK businesses that are about to invest in a customer portal, a bespoke system, an ERP integration or AI and want an independent view first; teams stuck between a vendor quote and an internal wish list; and companies whose current project has stalled and needs a clear route back on track. We work with businesses in Reading, across Berkshire and London, and throughout the UK, on site or remotely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our technology consultancy

Typically requirements discovery with your team, hands-on testing of your ERP, CRM, e-commerce and third-party APIs, a written gap report, a set of realistic options with cost, timeline and risk, and a phased roadmap. If you want us to deliver, we add a fixed-price proposal.

No. The findings, options and roadmap are yours to keep. You can hand them to your own team or another supplier. Sometimes the honest recommendation is an off-the-shelf product or a smaller scope, and we will say so.

Yes. We compare the routes side by side with cost, timeline, risk and who owns the result. For LGM Aviation, for example, we compared an ERP-side fleet feature quoted at 8 to 10 weeks with a portal-side build of about 2 weeks, so LGM could choose with the facts in front of them.

Yes. We review the code, the requirements and the supplier position, identify what is blocking progress and give you a clear route back on track, whether that is fixing the current build, re-scoping it or changing approach.

Yes. We are based in Reading and work with businesses across Berkshire, London and the rest of the UK, on site where useful and remotely otherwise.
